Drew's 1st MLB Game - Braves vs. Mets

My Aunt Fran came to visit us from Dallas last weekend, so we decided to go to a Braves game. Here are some photos from the night.

Dave & Drew walking into the park...yes, they're both wearing madris plaid shorts.

We've been busy...

Somehow summer is steadily coming to an end in the Yuhas/Blevins household. We have two weeks before we head back to school. I know that I shouldn't complain since I've been out since the last week of May, but it's been a great summer. Drew finally got over his fear of swimming and is now a little fish. He has to wear water wings, but he loves those too. We've spent a good portion of the summer at the library and pool. I've perfected napping for 2 hours every day when Drew naps because I'm just so tired. I'm a little nervous about how working full-time is going to play into my nap routine. Thankfully, my parents have been so helpful in keeping Drew occupied during the long summer days when he is not in school, and I'm not at my best.

Dave, on the other hand, is seriously in the best shape of his life. He's training for a mini-triathalon on August 9th in Chattanooga, TN. He'll be completing this with our good friend, Paul, and he's been training like a maniac. It's been so awesome watching him turn into a swimmer and a runner. Little does he know, but I'll be counting on him to be my running partner this winter and spring as I try to lose the baby weight. Of course, I had all intentions of eating really healthy this pregnancy and not gaining as much weight, but I've already gained 20 lbs. with 3 months left to go, and sweets of any kind are my best friend. I'm trying to walk 4-5 days a week for about 45mins, but I'm going to gain what I'm going to gain, right?!?! Oh well! I'm planning on doing a half marathon in April of next year as an incentive to lose the weight. The plan is for my friend, Griffin, to meet me in Nashville for their amazing half-marathon. Any and all are welcome!

Finally, we took our annual trip to RochVegas over the week after July 4th and had a blast. Nona and Papa were the perfect hosts and gave us a much needed break from chasing after Drew. We got to see Uncle Mark (0r Joe as Drew liked to call him). The weather was great by our standards...in the 70s. Drew transitioned to a big boy bed on this trip...thanks, Nona! He's now in a toddler bed at home, and we thought we might get him potty-trained too, but he wants no part of it. We'll try again later! I'd like it if I only have one child in diapers come October, but Drew may have other plans. I'll keep you posted on that front.

Papa & Drew reading books - This is Drew's newest obsession which for me is a good one. He made Papa read him 11 books when Dave and I went out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary. I don't think Papa minded that much.

Drew & Izzy VanCamp - Her dad is one of Dave's best friends from high school. We spent a few hours with them at their lake cottage while in NY.

Drew in Dada's shoes & Dave in Drew's shoes - Drew thought this was so great. I also have to point out the Handy Manny jammies that Drew is wearing. These were a gift from Gaga, and he wears them ALL the time.
