Grady @ 6 months...

Ok, so I have pics from Tampa to add to the blog, but they'll have to wait until later this week. We drove 8 hours to Tampa on Thursday night then got back last night at about 9:30. We had a blast. Drew and Caal loved the beach and pool, and Grady was so happy to be around everyone despite his nasty cough. We were lucky enough to stay right on the beach in Carlos' parents' condo, and Nona, Papa, Jen, and Carlos were great hosts treating us to all of our favorites.

I thought I would post a bit of a different 6 month picture of Grady and Drew...

Which one is which? (I'll post the answer below.)

On another front, Dave's company landed another project, so his job is looking great. I still don't know about my job. Supposedly they'll be done with the Language Arts numbers at the end of this week, so I'll keep you posted.
Ok ----so Grady is in the first pricure, and Drew is the second one. This picture is from Jen's house, and it's taken in a chair from Dave's grandparents' farmhouse. We even have one of Caal, our nephew, in the chair too. It's become a family tradition.

Happy Birthday to...

Dave! Dave is 33 today; it's hard to believe that he was 19 when we met, and I was 18. How things have changed?! We're celebrating tonight with takeout from Chili's and some SweetWater 420.

Hudson Will Blevins...

is here! He is 7 lbs, 4 oz and 20 inches long. Chels did it without drugs because he was ready to make a quick entrance into this world. She is my hero!

They are all doing well...pics to follow!

Happy Easter & Spring Break...

I first have to mention that my friend Michelle's husband should be home from his LONG deployment in a matter of days. Check out the link to the Heck family below to hear more news about this. THANK YOU TO BRIAN AND THE ENTIRE HECK FAMILY FOR WHAT THEY SACRIFICE TO KEEP US ALL SAFE!

We are at the start of our spring break, and much to our dismay, we had to cancel our long planned trip to Destin. There were many reasons why, and I'll spare you the long version. The main reasons we decided not to go were because we also are going to see Dave's sis and family in Tampa in 3 weeks (we haven't seen them in a VERY long time, and Jen just came out of surgery this morning and is doing well for those of you who wanted to know.) and couldn't afford both trips because (the other reason we're not going) Dave and I are both facing potential job loss. It's a very long story, and lots of prayers are constantly going out. We pray for peace about the situation versus praying for jobs..although, I doubt peace will pay our mortgage and put food on the table. I'm still leaving it up to the big guy right now. This economy really sucks!

On a lighter note, we're happy to be headed to Tampa to get a little beach time and much needed family time with the Yuhas' and Cisneros'. Caal and Drew should have a grand reunion...fighting and screaming over toys. I can't wait!

We had a great Easter weekend full of Easter egg hunts and family time. I asked Drew what Easter was all about and was pleasantly enlightened by this:

"Momma, Easter is about Jesus. He died on the cross and rose again."

Simply stated but full of truth...I love little kids.

He looks like he is ready to walk out of the room in this picture.

PS - Congrats to the "Baileys" and "Heaneys" on the arrival of their two little girls...ok, Chels...any day now! (ideally before the metro Atlantans get back from spring break...)
