Happy Easter & Spring Break...

I first have to mention that my friend Michelle's husband should be home from his LONG deployment in a matter of days. Check out the link to the Heck family below to hear more news about this. THANK YOU TO BRIAN AND THE ENTIRE HECK FAMILY FOR WHAT THEY SACRIFICE TO KEEP US ALL SAFE!

We are at the start of our spring break, and much to our dismay, we had to cancel our long planned trip to Destin. There were many reasons why, and I'll spare you the long version. The main reasons we decided not to go were because we also are going to see Dave's sis and family in Tampa in 3 weeks (we haven't seen them in a VERY long time, and Jen just came out of surgery this morning and is doing well for those of you who wanted to know.) and couldn't afford both trips because (the other reason we're not going) Dave and I are both facing potential job loss. It's a very long story, and lots of prayers are constantly going out. We pray for peace about the situation versus praying for jobs..although, I doubt peace will pay our mortgage and put food on the table. I'm still leaving it up to the big guy right now. This economy really sucks!

On a lighter note, we're happy to be headed to Tampa to get a little beach time and much needed family time with the Yuhas' and Cisneros'. Caal and Drew should have a grand reunion...fighting and screaming over toys. I can't wait!

We had a great Easter weekend full of Easter egg hunts and family time. I asked Drew what Easter was all about and was pleasantly enlightened by this:

"Momma, Easter is about Jesus. He died on the cross and rose again."

Simply stated but full of truth...I love little kids.

He looks like he is ready to walk out of the room in this picture.

PS - Congrats to the "Baileys" and "Heaneys" on the arrival of their two little girls...ok, Chels...any day now! (ideally before the metro Atlantans get back from spring break...)
